The 92 Liner

I know that there are a lot of makeup sponges out there but I will be going my very first sponge. Yes, you read that right. This is the first sponge that I bought and used! I was so eager to try a makeup sponge and did a research on makeup sponges. I stumbled upon a blog and saw a review of different Filipino brand sponges. After maybe a day or two, and also after reading reviews, I finally went to the nearest Watsons and there I saw different sponges. I was torn between the BYS and Nichido but finally chose the cheaper one. Plus, I read that its good. So I thought to give it a go.

Product: Nichido Blending Sponge
Price: P250.00

Product Description: (from packaging) An ultimate PRO Tool - blending sponge for contouring and precise application.

This Blending Sponge features a dual-end design for easy application to all areas of the face. The pointed end allows for precision in all small corners of the face such as around the nose, side of the eyes and under the brows while the flat rounded end can be used with stippling motion to create airbrushed look.

The shape offers optimal grip for easy use. This works with various makeup formulations, including liquid powders, minerals, and creams. It provides streak-free, buildable coverage with faster application than with fingers.

Suggested Usage:  (from packaging)

  • Use pointed end around the side of the nose.
  • Use pointed end under the brows or corners of the eyes.
  • Stipple forehead starting from the center out.
  • Stipple down chin down the neck area to blend.
  • Stippled in circular motions on cheekbones to build coverage.

My thoughts:
What I like about this product is that the texture is soft and smooth. However, when using it, I am having a difficult time since it is hard even when soaked with water. It also absorbs most of the product. Also making it hard to clean.

Even though I used it a lot of times, it's still hard on the face. I finally gave up and stopped using it.

Rating: 2/5

SNAPSEED
The best by far. You can do so many things with the app. What I like about this is that, there are wide varieties of editing tools and filters you can choose from. This is the go to app that I use whenever I edit photos to make them look nicer.

VSCO
This is the first editing app that I used before I discovered Snapseed. There are some free presets which I think are pretty and you can just use them alone without even using the editing options. However, the editing tools or options in this app are very simple and easy to use.
What I like about this app is that it has a studio where you can all see the photos you have edited. You can also copy the edit you made on photo to the other.

*Apologies for the photos, I just added any photo for the sake of this blog post*

PHOTOGRID
I mainly use this for its "Grid" tool. There are layouts that you can choose from. You adjust the ratio on how thick or thin you want the border/s to be. However, currently, I seldom put grid on my photos. Maybe that's just my taste now. No grid effect. ☺

I'm in in trying new things. Tell me your favorite photo editing app in the comment section below. I may just have to try it.

Hello everyone! I'm back after 2 years and for this comeback, I'll be doing a review of the Dr. Altchek MD's Brightening Serum (Skin Tone Corrector).

I didn’t have a plan buying this product. In fact, I was just in the mood to buy something and to try something new for my skin. That time, we were in the mall. My sister was looking for a new phone and I just wanted to make a purchase. I decided to buy a moisturizer or a serum. I went to several stores and to cut the story short, I bought the Dr. Altchek MD's Brightening Serum (Skin Tone Corrector) at Beauty Bar, Glorietta.

The product was promising! That time, it was like the product perfect for my skin since I have lots of post acne marks. It was like the solution to my skin problem.

*I don't have a lot of picture since I didn't actually think that I will be blogging again*
*Photos were taken after I finished the product :( *

Read the description of the product in Beauty Bar's website here.

Product: Dr. Altchek MD's Brightening Serum (Skin Tone Corrector)
Price: I don't remember how much I bought it but in the website it cost 1,445.00php

My thoughts:
It has 30ml of product and I must say that it is not cheap for the amount of product you will get. I used it for 3 months. A little goes a long way but I was to generous thinking that maybe it will work if I put just a little more.

For 3 months, I used it mostly in the morning and sometimes at night. I didn't see any result. It didn't lighten my acne marks nor correct my skin tone. However, it feels good applying it on the face. I feel like my skin is very moisturized and healthy.

Rating: 3/5, since it gave me a good feeling during and after applying it.

Hello! It's my first time doing an unboxing and I hope this won't be the last one. ( This is not

We have an internet connection at home which is the ACCTN(?) cable (now Converge). Since I was hired in Makati and I stay at my uncle's house in Pasay during the weekdays and I go home on the weekends in Angeles City, Pampanga, and I wanted to stay online or connected to my boyfriend, I decided to get my own pocket wifi.

My uncle's family uses SUN pocket wifi. My room is on the 2nd floor and they stay at the 3rd floor. It's pretty hard for me to connect to their wifi and it's very slow most of the time. But that's another story. So during my first week of stay there, (August 18-22), I had plans of getting one.

I researched, read blogs, reviews, compared the products of SUN, Smart and Globe. By the way, I am a Globe subscriber. Until last week, August 24, I purchased my own pocket wifi.

Here's my experience at Smart center.
Going to the mall, I wasn't still sure what I will get but I headed instantly to Smart. I was there by 4 P.M and I asked about the product that I will get. The salesladies are very kind and are willing on entertain you. I had second thoughts so I said I will first check out SUN and Globe. To make the long story short, I finally decided to get Smart's. ( They were on sale!)

They let me filled-up a form and they gave me a number. There were just 2 sales staff and they took ages! The number was I think 58 and I was at number 68! I waited for an hour and a half already and the number is just at 59! Luckily, the guard helped me process my application. He headed at the backroom and he said to wait. After 5-10 minutes, there was a lady who was assigned for my application and processed everything. So it was so much faster. If I waited, I have stayed there for 3 hours or more!

About the pocket wifi:
Based on Smart's website: http://www1.smart.com.ph/bro/products/pocket-wifi

Pocket Wifi Plan 999
Inclusive Hours: Unlimited
Connection: Via WIFI. Connects up to 10 devices
Speed: 12 Mbps (where service is available, minimum GPRS speed of 12-48Kbps at 80% service reliability rate)

Requirements: I just needed one valid I.D so I just presented my TIN.
Cost: P1,500 (for the device - one time fee) + P999 (for the first month)
Monthy: P899
No lock-in period! Which means I can stop or unsubscribe anytime I want and make it a prepaid plan.

I think that this is a good deal.

Here are the photos.

Comes with:
- Pocket WIFI device
- Sim
- Charger (with very short cable)
- The Guide, which will help you change the passwords. What you basically need is in the guide.

I found it slightly hard to charge. I saw it charging (the battery bars where moving) but after a few minutes when I looked at it again, the bars are not moving. I turned it off, and saw a big battery bars moving and I let it that way. I looked at it on the 3rd hour of charging and the battery is complete. It won't show you that it has been fully charged so I assumed it was.

There's a button at the top which you can browse some settings like the following:
- Device Information
- 2D Barcode
- WPS
- Data Roaming
- InternetWLAN
- Fast boot

You can see the initial SSID name (wifi name) and password. Also the log in details on the I.P address which I blurred out. In case you reset it, you will see it all here and also on the Starter Guide.

On the screen itself, you can see the details of the pocket wifi.
- The name and password
- Type of connection if it's 3g, 2g, etc..
- Battery life
- No. of device connected
- and the other details I mentioned above when you click the button at the top.

My verdict:
Using it on the following locations: ( Rating from 1 as the lowest and 5 as the highest)
- SM Clark in Angeles City, Pampanga (Dau/ Balibago) = 5/5 (used youtube and kakaotalk) (August 24)

- SM Clark to our home (30 minutes away going south) = 4.5/5 (used kakao talk)   (August 24)

- Home in Angeles City, Pampanga = 4 ~ 5/5 (connected my phone and laptop, watched videos on my laptop and on my phone. In the afternoon of Aug. 25, at the back of our house, the connection was kinda slow. Rating is 3.5/5)   (August 24)

- Dau Bus Terminal & SM Pampanga Terminal = 2~3/5 (It was raining so hard at night)  (August 24)

- Paseo De Roxas, Makati City (BPI Head Office) = 4.5~5/5 (Used it for the whole weekday. Rain or Shine) (August 24-30)

- Villamor Airbase, Pasay City = 5/5 (Used it for the whole weekday. Rain or Shine)(August 24-30)

- Five Star Bus Terminal to Dau Terminal (via NLEX) = 4.5/5 (Used it my whole travel. Pasay to Ayala to Guadalupe to Cubao to SM North way. I watched videos during the travel and it stops and loads for 5 seconds. There are times that it loads fast.) (August 25)

- NLEX = 4.5/5 (Used it my whole travel. I watched videos during the travel and it stops and loads for 5 seconds. There are times that it loads fast.) (August 25)

- Dau Bus Terminal to our home in Angeles City= 4.5~5/5(August 25)

And that's how I rated the Smart Pocket Wifi.

Overall, I like it. It fast, easy to use, easy to customize.

Brand: Etude House
Line: I'm Blooming
Name: Brightening Wash off Gel

Let me start off by sharing what the product is about based from their website.
"This transparent gel-type daily wash-off gel gently removes dead skin cells, providing smooth, supple skin for a milky-white complexion. With ingredients that strengthen skin's natural vitality, this cleansing gel helps maintain fresh, blooming, healthy skin."

I had this product as a sample when I purchased some of the AC Clinic Daily line products. That was back in January of this year and it's just now that I tried the product. I got two of this product and I gave one to my sister.

As you can see, it looks kinda flat and the feeling of that it contains a bit but don't judge the book by it's cover because I think that you can use this sample 5 to 8 times (my estimate) with a good amount every use.

My thoughts
When spread on the skin, there are tiny, soft particles that I believe are the scrubs to remove dead skin cells. They are very gentle on the skin that even you press your fingers/palm you won't feel a tingling sensation. That is what I liked most when I used it. I like that after I used this, I felt that my skin was smooth and fresh and also blooming as what they said on the website. I think it's true. The product is very light.

Overall, my rating for this product is 4/5.

I like this product for removing dead skin cells. But I have second thoughts on it's whitening effect. For now, I don't think I will purchase the full size.

Credits to fashion.ekstrax.com for the nail polishes background
First of all, Happy Valentines! Posted this on the day before Valentines :) I hope everyone will have a great time with their loved ones.

For February, I think this nail polish color is perfect for V-day. It's Caronia in Baby Pink Regular. From all the nail polishes, when I saw this color, I instantly thought of Valentine's day. Caronia is one of the famous nail polish brand in the Philippines. And from what I experienced, their nail polishes are long wear. Going back to the #NOTM, when I see the color on my nails, the words that pop out on my mind are sweet and candy! I really really like the color and I would definitely wear it again in the future. I like how the color on the bottle is really the color you will get on your nails.

Here are the photos I shot under the natural light. I see that on the photos, it didn't show it's true color, but still kinda close :) So here they are!

For healthy, youthful looking skin. Who won't get caught with this enticing phrase at the box of the "Myra E Facial Moisturizer." Plus the never ending commercials which some actresses use to achieve a whiter skin.

I have used this a year and a half ago(?) in a sachet form and I didn't like it. I felt like it made my skin darker and it did nothing on my skin. But last year, I tried to give it a chance, bought the full size product and used it for at least 3 months.

My thoughts:
For the packaging, the container of the product is glossy. And if you open the cap and squeeze the bottle (or just let it come out by letting the product opening facing down). The product is cheap. I don't remember the exact price of it but I think it ranges from 100-250 pesos? (Please correct me if I'm wrong.) But from the product you get, it's definitely worth it. It has a lot of product and you just need a bit when you apply it. You can use it for 3 to 4 months.

Basing on whats on the packaging of products, on how in works, I say that it didn't give me a "youthful glow" and again made me feel like my skin was a bit darker like what I felt before. It also didn't make my skin supple, unlike the Myra E Face Lotion, which I will be making a review later on.

For the product itself, it has a very thin, slightly watery consistency when applied. Definitely thinner than the Myra E Face Lotion. It's easy to spread and definitely not greasy. It's okay to apply it in the morning, under make-up and or at night like what's on it's box. On what you'll see on the photos below, it didn't show a bit watery but you'll feel it when u apply it.

Finally, I think it didn't moisturize me at all. Overall, I was not impressed with the product and I'm on the look out in finding a product that will moisturize my skin and have "the youthful glow." Will I buy it again? Considering there are a lot of products out there to try, I won't.

Rating: 2/5
