Hello!
The title says it all! ^^ When I found this on Youtube today, I instantly tried it and it was so easy to do so I want to share this great DIY to you guys.
So here are the step by step process that I did to turn a t-shirt into a tank top with photos.
What you need:
Steps:
1. Get an old t-shirt and your scissors.
2. Take the sleeve of the shirt and make sure that the seam of the front and back are lined.
3. Put a pin just to that the lined seam wont be dislocated.
4. Cut the sleeve off near the seam. Like what you see on the photo below. This shirt has a pinky finger thick kind of seam that's why I cut it on that part of the shirt. Do it on both sleeves.
5. Wear the shirt and put a mark on how thick you want the straps and how low you want the neck line.
6. Cut the ONLY the front making a U-shape but also following the shape of the original neck line until the half / middle of the shirt.
7. Like what you see below. fold the cut half of the neck line to follow its shape on the other half.
8. Put the pins so that it stays in place and cut the other half of the neck line.
9. Lastly, cut the back line near the seam line. Remember that the back should not be as low as the front neck line. And you can see how it looks like down below. Removing also the tag at the back.
And this is me wearing the new DIY tank top.
